In 2005, the Old Bar Beach Festival attracted over 8,000 visitors.

The official count for the number of Kombis which gathered at Old Bar in an attempt to break the world record for the largest number of Kombis gathered in one place was 114.
The festival was conceived as a way to actively involve all members of the community and foster a sense of community pride and spirit. The festival allows all
community groups to increase public awareness of the roles the individual groups play within our community and encourage membership. The festival showcases our local area, attracts people to our community and raises awareness of the areas natural assets as well as the heritage listed airstrip.
